A New panting

Brian McCarthy, shared this painting by Mr. Howe. I have several other paintings that folks sent me last summer and fall, however I am just now getting them on the site.  I hope to have them on the site in the next few days.  I appreciate the patience of those that sent them along.  This is a volunteer job that I try to squeeze into other work and activities.  The first of these is a painting that was sent to me recently.

As winter leaves us a common sight that we will soon see is the ice leaving the Miramichi River.  Richard Howe lived along the river and painted it many times.  Most of his river paintings are in the summer of fall.  A short while ago Brian McCarthy sent along this lovely photo of a painting that Richard did, of the iced leaving the Miramichi river.

He believes it was painted about 1980, as he acquired it about that time.  It is a 16"x20 inch painting and it I got a pretty good photo of it from Brian.  A great addition to this collection of his work.
