Richard Howe

Richard Howe was a long time Miramichi artist.  Very little has been written about this wonderful painter.  Mostly he painted outdoors.  As a plein-air painter he could be seen around the region recording land and seascapes on-site.  His art style was very much after the impressionists.

This site is an attempt to give him the recognition he deserves, and to start a log of his work.  We are hoping over time, as this site gains some recognition, to record as many of his paintings as possible and to display them here for all to see.

If you, or someone you know, has paintings by Richard Howe we would like to get a high quality photograph of them.  To make this record as accurate as possible we would like to record as much of the following information that is available about each painting.

Location of the Painting:  (example: French Fort Cove - Miramichi)

Size of the painting: (example: 16" x 20"  without the frame)

When the artwork was painted (exampe: August 1978)

Photo of the artwork: ( without the frame if possible - .jpg file in good or high quality)

Title of the artwork, if any: (Example: Fishing on the Miramichi )

Permission to include the information and the photo on this site

We will give full credit to the individual supplying photos and details of the art painted by Mr. Howe when it is added to the gallery of this site.

Hopefully, we will start to get a catalogue of his work in one place.

We are also looking for stories or information about Mr. Howe as well.  His education, travelling, family gathering etc.  Photos of him would would also be much appreciated.

If you think you can help then go to the CONTACT  page on this site and complete the form so that we can contact you .
